In 2017, the City completed a renovation project of the sports complex with new backstops, restrooms, concessions building and a central plaza. Paved fitness trail and a picnic shelter were also added to enhance visitor experience. With grant funding from King County Youth and Amateur Sports Grant program, the District improved the outfields including leveling, a sand cap, irrigation and appropriate drainage greatly improving the field conditions. The District also renovated the restrooms closest to tot lot with new siding, roof and additional maintenance/storage facility in 2018.
A 35,000 square foot bike park located on the southwest side of Torguson Park is an all-ages, all-abilities track, with features that both advanced and novice riders can enjoy together. A separate Striders track offers a safe environment for young children who are still learning how to ride where parents can walk along and help. The lights are operational from dusk to 8PM Sunday-Thursday and dusk-9PM Friday-Saturday.
The skateboard facility at Torguson Park has gone through a major renovation that was completed in early 2021.The footprint has nearly doubled and includes exciting elements for all skill levels as well as a central gathering area. This project was funded through the District's Capital Bond and CIP fund.
